One snowy morning I received a call, from my friend, her book is being published! I asked if I could write something. She said “Yes”. Can you believe it? Her book, something that means so much to her! She wants me to be a part of it.
That’s my Dee, always making me feel special. I remember when I first met her in computer class. I began to look forward to going to class! We laughed, we got frustrated, we persevered. We shared so much in common, then again …some things not at all. One of the things we share is determination, what we all need to survive. She always has time to listen, to whatever was going on. We shared so much through the years.
I lost my mom then she lost her mom not too long after. I remember her calling me that cold snowy morning the day after I buried my mother. Her cheerful voice gently reminding me that the world is beautiful and I’m still alive. She helped pick me up on that dark day. Over the years we laughed together and cried together. We spent countless hours just talking, walking together, seeing the world through each other’s eyes. She has the ability to feel another’s pain, so compassionate and giving.
Dee never gives up, no matter what. I shouldn’t have been surprised when she said I could write something in her book, always sharing. I realized one of the things we don’t have in common is her writing talent. She has the talent to put so much into words what she sees and feels and experiences. Her writing talent together with her wisdom has the power to reach so many people through her books now! She can lift so many from the cold and darkness and help them see the world is a beautiful place and so much more! She helps so many. That’s who my friend Dee is, a talented writer who is truly amazing! I’m so proud of you!
Dee, Congratulations to you! You have seen it through all life’s obstacles to make your dreams come true. Now the world can see why you are so special to me. Love, Marie F.
